The latest Press Release for Sadie and the Hotheads
PLEDGEMUSIC TEAM UP WITH SADIE AND THE HOTHEADS FOR RELEASE OF NEW ALBUM
Sadie And The Hotheads – fronted by Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Elizabeth McGovern – have teamed up with the revolutionary direct-to-fan music platform PledgeMusic, for the release of their new studio album.
The PledgeMusic campaign, will offer fans an opportunity to engage in the creative music making process in a variety of innovative ways. Amongst these are exclusive opportunities for Pledgers to own handwritten lyrics, a signed guitar, to Skype with Elizabeth and the band or a take part in a private acoustic guitar lesson. Fans can get involved here.
Formed in 2007, Sadie And The Hotheads have released two critically acclaimed albums to date. Combining Americana influences with tango and melodic piano chords, debut album ‘I Can Wait’ released in 2007 set the standard amassing plaudits from critics who called it “a wonderfully unique sounding album", a "great pop record" and "a mesmerising debut from a band which brings together two very different worlds.” Follow up ‘How Not To Lose Things’ released last year saw the band dig deeper into their musical abilities with an album inspired by the likes of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell with critics praising McGovern as “an alluring vocalist, McGovern blends sultry, seductive and sweet, making this latest album their best yet.”
Their new album ‘Still Waiting’ – due for release in February 2014 – will be produced by Sting producer 'Kipper Eldridge' and will include guest appearances by Nashville legends Gretchen Peters and her husband Barry Walsh. Elizabeth is supported by her crack team of musicians Simon Nelson -electric guitar, lap steel guitar; Steve Nelson - acoustic guitar, bouzouki, banjo; Terl Bryant - drums and percussion; Ron Knights – bass; Nick Lacey - piano, keyboards, penny whistle; Danica Chapman - backing vocals. Five per cent of any money raised once the goal is reached will go to World Vision, a charity that Elizabeth is an ambassador for.
Malcolm Dunbar, President of PledgeMusic UK and Europe said, “We’re privileged to be working with such a multi-talented artist as Elizabeth. With two critically acclaimed albums already under her belt, we’re delighted she’s chosen to work with PledgeMusic for the release of her third. We’re able to offer Sadie And The Hotheads an opportunity to connect with their fans on a more personal level and to engage with PledgeMusic’s ever expanding worldwide community.”
Elizabeth McGovern said, “We are incredibly excited to be working with PledgeMusic on our third album and involving our fans in the making of our new record. We wanted our fans to share in the creative journey and to get exclusive behind the scenes access to the band. The PledgeMusic platform will allow us to do just that.”
